Jody McKenna emerged from the national youth music project British Urban Collective.
Live and recorded, his bitter-sweet songs of broken promises, abandonment and hardship reflect more than his troubled upbringing. Like Lowry, they paint a brutally honest picture of life and death at the raw end of the kingdom.
