Freeport Records develops a range of short, practical and fun courses for summer universities, local authorities, YOT, YISP and PAYP needs:
1 day course on the music business
At a time when the music industry has never been more full of opportunities, this 1 day course provides a fun and fast track overview of the UK music market and how to operate within it. Designed for aspiring musicians, producers, promoters, managers and technicians.
- Harry Leckstein, course tutor, is the managing director of Freeport Records and the founder of the acclaimed London Urban Collective / British Urban Collective youth music project. He is also lecturer in Music Business at City University, London.
2 day course on music business and song-writing / mcing technique
This 2 day practical course covers a comprehensive overview of the current music market in the UK and how to operate within in when thinking about recording and releasing your own music.
It is also designed for aspiring singers, songwriters and MCs and includes practical classes in how to get inspiration to write, how to write lyrics, songs and bars, and how to deliver good performances in the studio and on stage. Delivered by:

- Lykez is a major breakthrough female MC and vocalist who, at the age of 19, has already supported Method Man / Redman on UK dates, performed at Glastonbury, RISE, T in the Park and Underage Festivals, and is now marketing her debut album "Lykez, Camera, Action!"
- Yap is the former front man of British Rap Metal band One Minute Silence and industrial slam poetry band Pink Punk. Yap runs a fantastic and fun lyric writing class that inspires everyone to write and perform.
